i dont usually write notes or write shit that pertains to ME or my LIFE but when im driving alone i sit back set the radio on low and play something smooth or religious. My favorite Gospel song is a old negro spiritual called "Guide Me O Thou" that song always gets to me and for some reason really makes me think about things anyway while thinking I think about things past, things present and things future. I think about mistakes I made things I could or MAYBE would change, lessons learned, people who have came and gone and people who may be in the future. people who will proly not make it to my future and people who will. I think about relationships, family, friends, and all that. One thing I can say is I wouldnt change a thing in my life if I could and I wouldnt change anything in other peoples lives that surrounded me if I could. I have no regrets for ANYTHING ive done, that being anybody i hurt, anybody i helped, etc. If i hurt you thats a lesson learned in your book as well as mines cuz i dont really mean to hurt anybody. I've been doing the most praying ive ever done in entire life well since i was little cuz my moms use to stay on top of that lol. Anyway i dont know what made me write this or way because i never write notes but im just sitting here in my basement on the phone typing as thoughts come to my head. I think ive had a successful life my moms raised me well im leaving the golden child life making sure shes okay and doing what she wants of me, she always told me school and church were the to most important things in life and if i did good in those id be set, well i have no complaints till this day. God tosses alot of trails at me whether it be financial, personal, mental, physical, anything and I overcome them all. I've sat back and watched my mother be hurt multiple times by several different weak ass males, well i wont call them weak i have no idea why they did the things they did to her cuz shes an excellent woman all i know is they come running back so she is doing something right, The other day she came to me and said "i almost cried when i went to look at apartments/townhouses out in canton, i dont wanna move from this house ive been hear for years" (you see the last weak nigga she was wit caused alot of problems and troubles and new she must move from this home that i was raised in since the age of about 5 or 6 before that it was haaaard times) but i told her hey you aint got nothing to worry about cuz im gong to make it out here. I feel like I am the only support and structure my family has because well im the only MALE in my family actually doing something, i was raised by females i didnt have a real strong male figure in my life except my grandfather and my pastor, my uncle was in jail and erebody else was in jail or HOOD as hell thats where that anger and hood shit come from but neway when she told me that im like man i HAVE to make it out here for my FAMILY i know alot of yall pt on for DETROIT and shit i mean i do too but DETROIT aint really did shit for me but make me into a nigga not to be fucked wit, im doing this music shit for DETROIT but more importantly its about my FAM and when i say FAM i dont mean just my immediate family i mean my close friends, my niggas who been runnin wit me since they GAVE me the name SLAPPEY and shit before Young Slapz.

I got three things going for myself I got 1 and half yrs of college left and imma have my Bachelors, 2 years after that I can have a masters, a masters degree at 24 that is an accomplishment. This shit has been hard and a learning experience i wouldnt trade it for the world. Ive made history here revived a frat and in my eyes made it cool for other niggas to pledge cuz it seem like erebody pledged after TAKEOVER hit campus lol neway

I have a blog (shouts to cliff because he was my inspiration on starting that) i actually started the blog because it seemed fun to do which it is but after i started i saw a bigger picture i can be on the cover of magazines, gettin money, fame, for being a blogger, like how great would that be. people wanting to advertise on my shit because they see a get a billion hits a day. thats dream i still intend t make true.

The last thing i have going is my rap career. I have alot of plans when i make it in this because i know i will. it will take time and dedication. I need to put Detroit on the map so that all these talented individuals in our city can get a shot at fame and get a shot at showing what they feel hip-hop is about. like honestly i dont think nebody out here is killing hip-hop erebody has their own idea of what hip-hop is and if they put it in to play you cant do nething but respect their crat we get mad and joke about all these dances being on the radio but i mean hey thats hate generation we're in right now and thats what hip-hop is about right now being expressed through dance so we cant knock it but we dont have to embrace it either all we can do is gt out here and show what we think it is Now i havent been rapping that long but in my eys im alot coder than alot of niggas gettin radioplay and with that in my mind im seeing that Im going to make it to the top out here and my city is coming wit me. Detroit native and G.O.O.D. Music artist, Big Sean recently sat down with format magazine to discuss meeting Kanye West, going on tour, his album: "Finally Famous" (which he says is looking at a September release), his affiliation with Burn Rubber, and dealing with the ups and downs of the music industry.

Format: When you first met Kanye and attended his secret listening party for Late Registration, where was it at?
Big Sean: It was actually located at a secret Universal office in the outskirts of Metro Detroit. The thing was they didn’t tell me where it was at – they told me word for word, “Yo come through the listening party, we’ll put you and + 3 on the list. It’s at a secret location, see you there.” and they left. And they told me that right after I rapped so I was so focused on the fact that I just spit for him [Kanye] and he liked it, then he took my CD and said he was going to listen to it in the car — I wasn’t really thinking as clearly as I should have been — I straight forgot to ask where it was located.
Then after Kanye left the station I was running around the station like a chicken with it’s head cut off asking where the listening party was at and nobody knew! Big Sean: Well, the whole theme of Finally Famous is way deeper than it sounds. The meaning of ‘Famous’ is being recognized for your craft. We threw ‘Finally’ in front of it to symbolize that the patience needed to achieve that craft. So basically anyone who is recognized for doing something very good, whether it be music, school, talking, etc. Whatever you’re very good at doing, you’re ‘Finally Famous’ for it. So it’s a concept everyone can embrace and relate to.
Format: Tell me about your style and your swag; who are your biggest influences?
Big Sean: Swag is, and style is just an extension of yourself. So my biggest influence is my mind I guess. I like what I like. It’s just certain clothes I love (Bape, BBC/Ice Cream).
Format: You seem to always be wearing Burn Rubber gear, what’s your affiliation with them?

Fab continued to tell what he was doing an also offered his opinion of T-Pain's shot at Jay-Z.
